Aztec Details

When thinking of my first outfit to feature on my blog I wasn't quite sure on where to start. So I just went with a look for a summer day out. Aztec print has always fascinated me with its intricate details and design. I personally think it is just fun to wear and look at it general. The hood and tank top both have a similar print and complement each other very well. This is a very casual look that can be worn both out in nature or in the streets of downtown LA. Quick tip if you aren't wanting to look too casual and want to one up your outfit I recommend throwing on a denim jacket of some sort. If you don't have one, go out and get one because they are definitely worth your investment! They are easy to match with any outfit and tend to give any look a new edge.
  • Denim Jacket- 21 Men

A New Beginning.

Welcome to my blog!

What is fashion
The first definition from dictionary.com is a prevailing custom or style of dress, etiquette, socializing, etc.
As for me, fashion is an outlet and a way for someone to express themselves. I view it as an art and recently it has been something that I have really been into, but it wasn't always this way...

I started off wearing hand-me downs like many younger siblings do from their older sibling, and that's how I got through elementary school not really caring about what I wore. I remember the day it all changed though, the day when I got my first pair of silver vans. I had to beg my parents to let me get the pair but they finally agreed. These vans were my favorite pair of shoes and I wore them almost everyday for as long as I had them. For once people noticed me and I realized how I dressed was an outlet of how I can express myself. I was a very shy kid in elementary school and these shoes gave me opportunities to talk to people about small things (even if it was about my shoes).
Time progressed and I slowly got more into clothes and fashion and it was something that started to grow and become part of my life. I actually wanted to try a little to match my shirt with a pair of pants and some shoes. Little did I know that people would actually like the clothes I wore and the outfits I put together. Some of my first suggestions to do something was from my mom who told me to get out there because I had "a look", but I always thought it was just one of those things that parents said to help encourage their kids to try something new. Throughout the course of high school I was told more often to put together a blog about the things I wore and the idea sounded absurd to me at first. I could not imagine that people would actually want to read and look at pictures about ME. Recent events have actually changed my mind about that and whether or not this goes anywhere for me I am proud of myself that I am actually starting this blog.
Before I end my first post, I want all my readers to get a little insight of who I am. My name is Nicholas Dy (D-ee) but I also go by nicknames like Nico and Nick. I am seventeen and this August I will be going into my senior year! Today I got to shoot with one of my best friends, Mita, who has been one of my supporters in achieving this start and actually just made her own blog as well (www.lovinglymita.blogspot.com), so go check out her blog! Also special thanks to her brother Miko for taking our pictures today. I am really excited to see what this blog has in store and I hope you are too! If you want to come along on this journey with me, get to know me better, and look at the new stuff I have to post then be sure to check out my blog and other social media as well! A post of today's shoot will be up soon. Thank you!
